| This is a special advisory about the changing soil conditions between North Park Way and University Avenue on 30th Street.
Construction Update: Over the past week, the contractor discovered wet clay throughout the entire depth of their excavation, causing the walls of their trench to become unstable. In order to ensure the safety of their crews working in the trenches, they’ll now make use of trench boxes to safely shore the trench walls. The trench boxes are substantially larger and require a flatbed truck to be transported to the job site. What This Means for You: The trench boxes will have to remain on the job site until the soil conditions change. They will be staged on the street, where equipment was recently cleared. We apologize for the inconvenience; however, these changed conditions and the safety of workers require this action. |
