North Park is an inclusive community. We celebrate the diversity of our vibrant neighborhood, and that extends to the LGBTQ+ community, all gender expressions, partners and family groups. Join us in making a pledge to being a part of the solution to oppression, inequality and bias by visually representing your commitment to being an inclusive and welcoming business or organization to ALL. When we stand together and say “we see you and you belong here!” it makes a difference.
Beginning in July, Pride month, we will be launching a new, ongoing inclusivity initiative – as we strive to make North Park a welcoming place to all.
Below are some opportunities to participate, for both the LGBTQ+ community and those that would like to show their support :
- If you would like to promote your identity as a LGBTQ+ identifying-owned business or as an LGBTQ+ inclusive space, North Park Main Street will distribute special window clings, beginning in June 2021. It is our hope that these can be an expression and reminder of the diversity of our beautiful community year-round. Any business is welcome to make this commitment.
- If you are an LGBTQ-identifying business owner, we’d love to highlight your unique business story across North Park Main Street’s digital channels (website, social, video etc.) and local media, by way of our public relations partnership with Bay Bird Inc PR. Media opportunities would potentially include digital and print interviews and mentions as well as live and Zoom TV interview opportunities. - If you have any special promotions planned for San Diego Pride Month, we’d love to hear about it! This can range from a special menu item, a Pride nail design, a charitable or give-back opportunity, or a fundraiser for a LGBTQ organization.
