SOCCERCITY WORLD CUP FAN ZONE VIEWING PARTY
The FIFA World Cup only comes around every four years creating a milestone event opportunity in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood. Sponsored by SoccerCitySD and powered by Cox, North Park Main Street will host the largest free outdoor viewing party on the West Coast for the FIFA World Cup Championship. Held for the second time in North Park, the SoccerCity World Cup Fan Zone will take place on Sunday, July 15 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thousands of soccer fans are invited to attend this free giant viewing party along 30th Street in North Park.
Two giant jumbo screens, powered by Cox Communications, will display the game along this block of fun for all ages. Adding to the excitement will be an assortment of food trucks for hungry fans. A beer garden and 619 Spirits Bloody Mary Bar will serve craft sips for those 21+ in age. Families are welcome to join the celebration, as there will be an activity area and family zone with fun for those under 21.
Watch the game then stay and party Sunday Funday style with the Fan Zone After-Party from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., with a DJ spinning top hits. Surrounding North Park restaurants and craft beer destinations will keep the party going throughout the day for soccer fans.
This massive, free community North Park event would not be possible without the support of our other sponsors A7D Creative Group, VAVi Sport and Social Club, North Park Community Association, and 619 Spirits.
The 2014 North Park Fan Zone viewing party hosted over 10,000 locals, so fans are advised to reserve their spots early on July 15 and bring a beach chair for a seat. The North Park Fan Zone viewing party is located on 30th Street and University in North Park. Let everyone know you’re going and RSVP to bit.ly/northparkfanzone!
Fans are invited to explore North Park throughout the duration of the series, with different bars and restaurants hosting official viewing parties throughout the month. To check out all of the restaurants, craft breweries, etc. showing the games in North Park, head to www.explorenorthpark.com.
