The long-awaited groundbreaking celebration for
the La Boheme condominiums occurred on January 21. In attendance
were about 100 community members, business owners, political
representatives, City employees, D.R. Horton representatives, and
other friends. Councilmember Toni Atkins was the keynote speaker.
La Boheme is a 224-unit condominium project being
built at the site of the former RiteAid and Bimbo’s Bakery
on 30th Street and the large parking lot on Ohio Street. Construction will
take approximately two years.
The La Boheme sales office at 2860 University
Avenue has opened. There are four computer stations with virtual tours of
the project. There is also a large model of the project.
The La Boheme project will result in about $1.4
million in park fees. D.R. Horton asked Council District 3 to ensure
that these funds are spent in North Park. A portion of the funds may
be used for Theatre Plaza on 29th Street.

condominium project call (619) 299-4663 for sales
information.
This exciting project will be the first large
project in North Park since the construction of Palisades
Pointe. La Boheme is part of over $100 million worth of
development in North Park. Visit
the La Boheme website for more information about the project.
