North Park, San Diego, CA – It’s an artistic cultural
experience for the whole family, the 11th Annual North Park
Festival of the Arts. Taking place on, Sunday, May 18th,
2008 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, this FREE neighborhood event is an
explosion of arts, culture and entertainment that takes place in
downtown North Park, along University Avenue between 30th
and 32nd Street. Your day will have something for everyone
including breathtaking art, live entertainment, scrumptious food, and
all types of entertainment.

Previous year’s attendance topped over 35,000, drawing
San Diegans from all over the county to North Park. With all this
festival has to offer, this year’s event should draw even more.
Come and enjoy The Artists’ Village. This interactive
community of artisans will showcase artists who will be creating and
displaying their work and allowing visitors to observe the creation of
fine art. Be sure to stop by the
juried artists’ area where local artists will display and sell their
work, and compete for awards. This area will also feature the
applicants and honor the winner of this year’s Festival of the Arts
poster contest.
In addition to the amazing works of art, you can also
stroll more than 150 specialty booths while enjoying a wide variety of
international cuisine, or sit and relax at the food court, where the
Beats & Eats Stage showcases an eclectic array of funky fabulous
acoustic musicians, singers, poets, storytellers, beat-boxers and more.

Kids of all ages will be enchanted at the Pet Zone where
they can “Ask a Trainer”, learn about adoption, and more from the San
Diego Humane Society. You can also let them try their hands at a
masterpiece of their own at the Kid’s Art Beat, where the little ones
can join in on fun and interactive, educational and multicultural art
activities. This year the festival welcomes the return of The Art Miles
Mural Project, and the Sophia Isadora Academy of Circus Arts. Also
featured will be the San Diego Junior Theater, Teen Theater, and more!

A festival in San Diego just isn’t complete without
great live entertainment and the North Park Festival of the Arts
is no different. You can dance, sing or just enjoy four stages of live
entertainment featuring some of San Diego’s hottest live bands and
exciting dance troupes.

Proceeds for this day-long event will benefit North Park
Main Street, a non-profit organization committed to the revitalization
of the North Park Business Improvement District. North Park Main Street
is dedicated to the revitalization of the North Park neighborhood in San
Diego through the Main Street Four Point Approach; design, economic
restructuring, organization and promotion. North Park Main Street
embarks on many ambitious and worthy endeavors, all aimed at bringing
new life and a lasting vitality to North Park. Volunteer positions are
available. Contact North Park Main Street by calling
