North Park Mainstreet Targeted Businesses

The North Park Main Street Economic Restructuring Committee and Board of Directors have informally solicited community input regarding desirable products and services deemed to be lacking a presence within the North Park downtown business district. Much of the response has centered around the emerging North Park profile –  younger households with higher disposable incomes, a bent toward the alternative urban lifestyle, and a robust appreciation for the arts. Many of these young consumers are buying historic homes  and eager to furnish and accessorize them in styles loyal to the original architecture (e.g. Craftsman bungalow, Spanish Colonial) or alternatively, “modern eclectic”. This growing demographic is a frequent consumer of entertainment – including the nightlife scene; likes boutique shopping, participates in the arts; is active in sports and recreation.
